WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
Any citizen of Australia can register to become a member of the A&TSIP.
Changing the A& TSI constitution.
The Constitution of the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Party ( A&TSIP).

-
We accept and adopted the Model Constitution, as described under the Associations Incorporated Act 2009 NSW.
-
The following is an amendment to the Model Constitution, as we include this information into that document, the document then becomes the Constitution of the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander party.
-
We respect the Queen of England as our Monarch. We support a Monarchy in Australia.
-
We will work with the Australian Government of the day, we respect the office of Prime Minister, and all registered parties to provide a better Australia for all citizens.
-
Healing the Nation and the Australian Constitution.
-
This party has been established to establish recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in Australia, through changing the Commonwealth Constitution of Australia. We believe by establishing changes to the Australian Constitution, the process will provide a platform to help the process of healing Australia as a nation.
-
The healing process will be continually ongoing, it will allow Australia to take its place on the international stage as a country that recognises its past, addressed these matters through recognition and looks forward to a more inclusive society, not only for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders but also for new immigrants to our country and the marginalised peoples in our society. We are an inclusive party for all Australians, but with a primary focus on Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander persons.
-
This party is to facilitate a meeting place. To allow all the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander nations to meet and discuss and formulate policy on all matter affecting Aboriginal & Torres Strait peoples.
-
Never to relinquish our Aboriginal Sovereignty of this Country- Australia.
-
The party will be launched on the 28th of April 2020, at 2.40 pm at Captain Cook's landing site, the Captain Cook monument at Kurnell in Sydney. This will be known as our Foundation day, a day of celebration marking the start in our political journey for our party.
-
The time of day is also significant being 2.40 pm. The two represent the number of our mob after Cook's landing party came ashore. The forty represents the number of our mob before his arrival. The two represent our mobs today. Let’s look at the positives, we are still here after all that has happened to our nations.
-
We work towards changing the Australian Constitution to have Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders recognised as the original inhabitants of Australia, and that the changes to the Australian Constitution provide permanent seats in the Commonwealth House of Representatives and Senate, for the (ATSIP) to hold separate elections only for ATSIP members to vote and appoint elected members.
-
These changes will allow the ATSIP to have a permanent say in the affairs of their people.
-
Any citizen of Australia can register to become a member of the ATSIP.
-
Any Australian citizen can register with our party to become a member. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders can vote on motions at meetings, hold office for our party or stand for elections.
-
We are not anti-mining. We work for the betterment of the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders of Australia.
-
All members are to keep a positive attitude, be focused on our goals and our member’s wellbeing, instead of criticising, we offer positive comments and solutions, working to a positive outcome for ATSIP members.
-
At least 50% (Fifty percent) of our executive committee will be women.
-
We do not condone any violence, we are a non-violent party.
-
